What our customers say about us

We have just spent a night at The Ship Inn and I can only describe the experience as an absolute pleasure. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and relaxed in the very pleasant atmosphere of the Inn which is so obviously steeped in history. The beer was absolutely excellent and I was very surprised to only be paying £2.40 a pint.......... a very rare treat in this day and age!

There was a slight mix up with our booking on arrival but the staff worked quickly and effectively to ensure that it was immediately resolved.

We were shown to our room (room 2) which was absolutely lovely and very comfortable, and once again, it reflected the character of the Inn. The double room was beautifully presented and clean and had a small en-suite, we had everything that we would need for very comfortable stay. There was a very good selection of beverages available in the room and a good selection of biscuits, this is just one of the minor details which make you realise that you are staying somewhere 'just that little bit better'.

The menu had an excellent choice and the Inn has an excellent reputation locally for it's good quality, and reasonably priced, food.
We only ate breakfast there but it was absolutely lovely and served unhurriedly, in a incredibly relaxing atmosphere with music playing softly in the back-ground and papers to read. Now that is a really good way to start a day!!

The patio area and garden was lovely with it's carefully manicured lawn, and Sara (who was very warm, friendly and very welcoming to us) was starting to set the bedding plants in the borders as we left on Sunday morning. This really is a delightful place to stay and, if the bed had been as comfortable 'as ours at home', then they would have achieved full marks. It wasn't uncomfortable at all, it's just not the same as being in your own bed at home, but that's what you get when you are staying away!

The whole ambiance of the Inn was delightful, the staff were polite and obliging and we will be returning for another stay in December.

Lovely, excellent and relaxing. Well done!

Room Tip; Room 2 is charming, double bed & en-suite.
